• It is important to consider how many people can stay in each vacation home.
• The tenant is responsible for cleaning and socializing and must familiarize themselves with the house rules. The house must always be left clean.
• A supervisor inspects the houses after each rental.
• Smoking and the use of illegal drugs are strictly prohibited and may result in immediate eviction from the house.
• If the caretaker needs to clean after the tenant's stay, it is at the tenant's expense without further notice and may result in exclusion from the rental. The cleaning fee is 50,000 ISK.

Points system and allocations
There are two allocation periods, over Easter and the summer period. The rental period over Easter is one week from Wednesday to Wednesday and the summer period begins at the end of May/June and is 13 weeks, and then the houses are rented out on a weekly basis from Friday to Friday. Information about the application period and allocations is announced at the beginning of the year on Efling's media. Applications must be submitted during the advertised application periods.
Efling's special holiday home system manages all of the company's allocations, where rights are accumulated in the form of points for each member and age can also affect allocations. The number of points is determined by payments to the company, but efforts are made to create as much equality in the system as possible so that those with lower incomes also have a good chance of being allocated apartments and holiday homes.
The computer system allocates in such a way that all applications are ranked by points, i.e. the applicants with the most points are at the top of the list and so on. Age determines if the points of two are equal, i.e. the one who is older gets allocated first. The system then reads through all the applications and examines each choice individually.
There will be only one distribution and it will be for all eligible members. This applies to both the summer and Easter distributions. The points standings determine the outcome of the distribution.
First come, first served.
After the Easter distribution, the booking website opens for all members to book the houses that are still available. After the summer distribution, the booking website opens in two steps, based on the members' point balance, to book the houses that are available at any given time.
First for 3 days for those who have 100 points and more in the system .
For all eligible members.
Point collection
Until now, points have been accumulated so that for approximately ¼ of the employment rate, 1 point is awarded per month, and 2 for everything above that. The change is that now ¼ of the income security and below gives 1 point, from full income security 2 points and 3 for everything above that.
There will also no longer be a maximum point accumulation of 12 years or 288 points as has been the case, but points will be accumulated for as long as the person concerned pays to the company.
Points are deducted from rent throughout the year.
Please note that points only indicate priority in allocation and do not replace payment.
Bookings outside of allocation periods
The winter rental season begins at the beginning of August/September and is booked directly, no applications (except for Easter). During the winter season, the rental period is more flexible and it is possible to book both weekend and weekly rentals. Winter rentals are opened in two steps: in mid-August, bookings open until Christmas and on the first working day in November, bookings open after the New Year and until the summer season. Bookings open on My Pages at 9:00 on the opening day.

General rights
Members must have at least 6 months of continuous membership and be 20 years of age. This provision generally applies to applicants for holiday homes. The first rental must be booked via email. Each eligible member can book a holiday home for winter rental once before the New Year and once after the New Year. All that needs to be done is to log in to My Pages with electronic ID. Those who do not have electronic ID can contact the office or receive instructions via email orlof@efling.is
Jobseekers who pay membership fees from unemployment benefits retain their right to rent a holiday home, provided that they have been a member of the fund for at least 6 consecutive months before becoming unemployed. The same applies to members with full membership. Members who retire due to age or disability are entitled to holiday homes according to their points until they are exhausted or until the end of the 6th year after receiving an old-age or disability pension, whichever comes first.
